Gaido's remains a classy staple on the island. The fresh seafood is delicious and flavorful. The service is impeccable. I had not been to Gaido's in many years, but I went for lunch on a weekend. We were seated immediately. For an appetizer we enjoyed oysters with a stuffing. It had a smoky flavor. The oysters were small, but the stuffing complimented the oysters well. It was filling. For my entre, I had the shrimp and grits. I was warned by the waiter that I should only order it if I like blue cheese. I happen to love blue cheese, so I really enjoyed it.

Haven't been in at least 5 years so decided to stop by for lunch. Went with some oysters and they were tasty but very small. The shrimp and stuffing on top did fill you up. The chaser was good. I ordered a small but they gave me a large but still charged for the small. It's definitely an old spot and you can tell. I appreciate the atmosphere but it could use some updating. It smelled weird when you first walk in.

Gaido's is my favorite restaurant to visit in Galveston. The atmosphere is polished and respectful, with a nice view of the ocean and Galveston traffic :) The crab stuffed shrimp was deliciously soft and melted in my mouth. The entree was balanced with savory asparagus. Fair warning, the mac and cheese is a side order, but it comes in a gigantic dish so be prepared to share it! I have nothing but praise for all of the desserts at Gaido's and can assure you that any option is perfect.

Great place for a special date night. Service is old school and on point. The service team anticipates your needs expertly. Some of the best charred oysters I have ever had. Pecan pie was perfect and the beach is right across the street. Seafood pasta was amazing

Gaido's since 1911 ! What a long lasting legacy to be in Galveston that long! This was my first visit to Gaido's and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Calamari for appetizer, blackened red fish with loaded baked potato for main course, then pecan pie for dessert!!!!! Wow Our waiter was very helpful in giving us some recommendations and was there when we needed him. Being a restaurant since 1911, it almost feels like a museum too. Old photos and dishes....... Displayed throughout the restaurant are fun to look at. The traditional warm water with a slice of lemon to wash your hands was a classic treat! When in Galveston, try Gaido's. Go get Full!!

Armando our waiter was amazing. This is a nice restaurant, the service top tier. Every course delicious. Beautiful dining room. Interesting history if the area, building the seawall. Food great. Best service we've had in a long time.

The food here is fine, but it's the service and atmosphere that are the real winners. I made a reservation some time ago for an anniversary dinner, and they gave us exactly what I asked for -- a table in a dark corner. Our server, whose name I do not remember, was spectacular. He was prepared to answer any/all questions, and he always seemed to show up at the right time. His demeanor and expertise reminded me so much of some of the higher-end restaurants in NYC. Gaido's is quasi-dark, and the views of the street and ocean beyond are good. While the food was good, it wasn't executed nearly as well as the atmosphere or service. Still, a wonderful experience.
